 Philip K. Dick's paranoid novels have spawned a ton of action movies, from Blade Runner to Paycheck, but they've only recently started to be seen as fodder for art films like Scanner Darkly. And now one of Dick's weirdest books, Ubik, has just been optioned by Celluloid Dreams, a European company better known for producing or distributing movies like Son Of Rambow, Persepolis and I'm Not There. Dick's daughter, Isa Dick-Hackett, will co-produce the movie and says that Celluloid Dreams' vision is close to her own.
Ubik takes place in an alternate 1992, where you can travel to the moon, and telepathy is real. A company run by a man named Glen Runciter can block telepathy for clients who don't want their minds read. His adversary is Ray Hollis, who runs an organization of psychics. Our protagonist, Joe Chip, is a technician with Runciter's company and is crushed out on Pat Conley, one of the psychic-blocking people. They all head to the moon on behalf of a client who wants his mind shielded, but then everything goes to hell and Chip finds himself stuck in a disorienting world where everything is falling apart and he seems to be drifting back to a werid version of 1939. At a reception given by the Moderna Museet in Stockholm, artist Olle Carlström pressed a plate of potato salad onto the swastika featured in Dick Bengtsson's (1936-1989) painting of the Kumla prison auditorium and its constructivist tapestry. Carlström, an expressionistic painter, could not raise his glass in the presence of a painting that included a swastika. He wanted to show that there were limits. 'He injured Dick more than he damaged the painting,' reßects the director of the museum, Olle Granath, who made Carlström apologise for what he did. Dick Bengtsson refused to accept the apology. Another artist who witnessed the incident says that one can punch another artist in the face, but to damage their work is unforgivable. 'That kind of thing deserves the death penalty!' I receive ambiguous answers when I ask those who knew Dick Bengtsson why he painted swastikas. In this case it seems to have been a critical statement about an artist taking part in decorating a prison. But Bengtsson's work is rarely unambiguous. He uses the swastika over and over again in his pictures. There are two different kinds of swastikas. Sometimes it is the sun-cross used by the Nazis, sometimes it is the reversed swastika, a symbol of nirvana, perfection and the end of history. A common interpretation is that Bengtsson wanted to empty two languages of content by bringing them into confrontation, thereby reaching a new, higher level. The symbolic value of the swastika supposedly dissolves in the encounter with other signs in the picture. Is it possible to create a collision so strong that it dissolves the meaning of a swastika? Carlström apparently did not think so. Olle Granath thinks Carlström chose the most conventional of all interpretations. Диалог с читателем». замечу статья датирована 2м апреля, даже не понимаю как было бы лучше что бы это была правда или вымысел не полениться прочитать полностью: На днях состоялся нешумный юбилей – прошло тридцатое награждение премией британского журнала Bookseller «За самое странное название книги». Конкурс этот родился в 1978 году на Франкфуртской книжной ярмарке, и первым победителем стала книга «Протоколы второго международного семинара по голым мышам». В этом году претендентов на награду было довольно много – за верхнюю ступень пьедестала бились книги под названиями «Решение проблем с сыром», «Как писать руководство по написанию книг», «Являются ли женщины людьми? И Другие Международные Диалоги», «Меня пытала пигмейская королева любви» и т. п. Ну а призером стал труд под названием «Если хотите завершить свои отношения, начните с собственных ног». Как ехидно прокомментировал заместитель редактора Bookseller Джоэль Риккет: «Название книги-победителя столь исчерпывающе, что саму книгу читать совсем необязательно». дальше про Россию , ЯММИ!! История начинается с того, что Колобок уходит от своих «родителей»: дедушки с бабушкой. [1] Как известно, колобок – это круглая пресная лепешка. Коло (круглый) – бок (край). То есть, эта лепешка имеет форму диска. С другой стороны, на всех сказочных иллюстрациях Колобка рисуют круглым. Оказывается, такая расшифровка этого слова имени не то, чтобы неправильна, это всего лишь одна коннотоация из нескольких. Вторая коннотация следующая: Клубок, тоже от слова коло, сокращенное из колоб или колуб в клуб и означающее круглость, шар. Мы стеснили его значение, говоря только клуб дыма или клубок ниток, клубень да клубника; но иностранцы под тем же словом globe, globus разумеют шар вообще, а особливо земной. Мы взяли их глобус, а свое клуб бросили, относя только к ниткам. [2] Поэтому в сказке Колобок – шар, хотя вместе с тем он – диск (круглая лепешка). На этом дуализме диска и шара строится не только эта (индивидуальная) интерпретация, которая ограничивается рамками комплексов, но и другая, более масштабная, архетипическая интерпретация. Так какое же символическое значение имеет Колобок, если расшифровывать эту сказку на символическом языке комплексов? Первое, что приходит в голову: Колобок является символом Самости.
